I know I haven't been exactly forthcoming about my work and what it is that I do and what has been going on there. I'd like to sit down and explain that all now.
I work for Thrive Learning Institute, an internet coaching company. When you see the "make money at home" kinds of ads those go to a few sales-floors with different names. If you were to sign up with one of those sales floors they would send you to Thrive to for the coaching, but you don't know that it is Thrive. Once you start you get a personal coach that will call you once a week to babysit you on your learning of the library of information to which you have access. You can also call, email or chat to get help. We help you learn some online way of making money such as eBay, dropshipping websites or affiliate websites. You only have so many weeks of phone calls before you are restricted to only emails and chats, all depending on what package you buy. (Which happens to cost upwards of 3,000 to 5,000. Crazy I know. Very.)
So that is what people buy into. At the company we have the personal coaches or 1on1 coaches and then we have hotline coaches. The 1on1 coaches call out to their students once a week and they have around 65 students at a time. The 1on1 coaches have buddy coaches in the hotline, like myself. I call their students when they can't and I also answer their voicemails when they can't, and their emails, as well as other coaches calls and emails. Also I answer emails and chats of those who are no longer getting phone calls.
That is how my work goes. I answer phone calls and emails and chats all day. Lately I've been understanding how it is that people get too engrossed in their job life. I'm talking about how their job becomes their world and all that they talk about and care about. I believe it is because people get to a point where they are no longer learning in their job, nothing new to stimulate them, they get too comfortable and no longer focus on their work. Instead they focus on the other people and activities at work. That means they complain about what others do and how it effects them rather than the quality of their own work. I plan on that not happening to me so I have been trying to focus on my work and what the work is that is being done.
I started with going over some numbers that I have access to, number of calls made, by who, emails sent, chats made etc. I made some charts for everyone to see where they were in the week and in relation to the other employees. I then started to think about what the numbers meant and so I sent an email to my manager explaining what the numbers meant and how I interpreted them. He thanked me for the information and explained how I was right on most account and explained a few things of what they use the numbers for.
Next I started taking notes while going to meetings and training sessions. I then realized that the optional training sessions that I was going to to learn more on what it is that we teach were being attended by 5 people. I then started to think about the way that I teach what we do and began to listen and read in notes on our students how other coaches were teaching. I then decided to email our trainer about what the point of the training sessions were if no one used them and continued to teach the old fashion way. It seemed that they would be having more difficulty helping our students if they never learned how the internet was changing constantly and how to keep up with new methods of doing the same things. I made some suggestions on how to fix it for them if they wanted it.
The company trainer then printed off my email and thanked me for it. The next day he told me that they were working on something to fix the problem and thanked me again. Yesterday they implemented a new system requiring groups of coaches, such as me and the coaches I help and myself, to go to one training session a week. They also thanked me for the help publicly.
And finally I was nominated for employee of the month last week but I didn't get it. I did win $25.
Anyway. That is what is going on with my work. You have been thoroughly updated!
